Meticulous. Systematic. Efficient.
These are the ingredients chosen to create our perfect Caption Review Assistant.
If you identify yourself to have a pair of eagle eyes, relish the idea of picking out mistakes from one's written work in the comforts of an air-conditioned environment, you may be the person that we're looking for!
[About The Opportunity]
As a Caption Review Assistant, your mission is to ensure that our video captions are written accurately, so that we're able to give the best viewing experience to our learners.
Being successful in your role means that our viewers are able to better understand what they're watching by reading your captions.
Here's How We're Looking To Run This:
- The videos that you'll be working with have been processed by a human captioner.
- However, not every piece of work by the human captioner is perfect. Your role is to review the captions and make the necessary changes based on our organisation's caption guidelines.
- For every video, you'll get access to a video link, together with the transcripts and accompanying time-stamps.
Work Commitment:
- We're seeking for a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week, which can scale further depending on your ability to commit. Ultimately, we're looking to keep a small, close-knit group of caption reviewers that we can rely & trust for all of our video projects.
- You'll kickstart this role by putting in at least 20 hours* of onsite work at our Upper Thomson office (Singapore 576151) where you'll be reviewing the captions together with our Marketing Team. Subsequently, you can either choose to work from home or at our office, depending on your preference.
- If you wish to pursue other opportunities, the notice period is one (1) week and all we expect is for you to complete the projects assigned.
*You can complete this requirement over 4 weeks (at a frequency of 5 hours a week), within a week (at a frequency of 7 hours per day, over 3 days) OR something in between.
[The Type Of Person We're Looking For]
We’d love to have a chat with you if you meet the following criteria:
Personality
- Independent, Proactive & Organised: You need to be able to work well under pressure & complete your tasks dutifully with minimal supervision.
- Strong Attention To Detail: You will be scrutinising plenty of captions and checking them against our publishing guidelines. You need to be highly meticulous and always have a habit of checking your work before submitting.
- Humble & Always Strive For Improvements: You need to be someone who is receptive to feedback, able to learn from them and pursue excellence in your line of work.
Skills
- Good Understanding of Digital Technologies: You need to be well-versed with technology and be resourceful enough to work with our captioning tools. If you know how to use Microsoft Word or Google Docs, you should be good!
- Good Communication & Interpersonal Skills: You should be able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in written & spoken English.
[Application Instructions]
- Round 1 Profile Match: We'll match your profile against the requirements of the role.
- Round 2 Technical Test: You'll be asked to take a 20-minute, standardised test where you're expected to review captions for 3 videos (less than 8 minutes in length cumulatively). The captions have been written & you're expected to check them against our caption guidelines.
- Round 3 Zoom Interview: If your work meets our expectations, you'll be invited for a short 15-minute Zoom interview. If everything goes well, we'll make you an offer!
